1Who this is about
This policy covers SelectiveCoach and this website. It explains what we collect when you contact us, why we need it, who else sees it, and how to have it changed or removed.
2What we collect
When you fill in the enquiry form on our website, you give us:
- your name
- your phone number and email address
- your child's year level, and which course you are asking about
- anything you choose to write in the notes box
Our web server may also keep ordinary technical records of visits — such as the page requested, the time, and the IP address it came from — which are used for security and for fixing faults, not for tracking you.
If you go on to enrol, or your child sits a free diagnostic, we will collect more than this — for example your child's name and their work. That happens away from the website and we will explain it to you at the time.
3Why we collect it
Only to answer you: to arrange a time, to recommend the right course, and to reply to what you asked. That is it.
4What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anybody.
- We do not add you to a mailing list because you enquired.
- This website sets no cookies, and runs no analytics or advertising trackers — there is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and nothing following you to other sites.
5Who else sees it
An enquiry from the website is not stored on this website's server. It is sent straight to us as a text message and an email. To do that, it passes through two service providers:
- an SMS provider (Cellcast, in Australia), which delivers the text message to our phone
- an email delivery provider (Brevo), which delivers the email to our inbox
Both handle the message only in order to deliver it. Once it arrives, your enquiry lives in our phone and our email inbox, and only the people who need to answer you can see it.
One other thing worth being upfront about: the typefaces on this website are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads. No enquiry details are involved.
We will only ever hand your information to somebody else if you ask us to, or if the law requires it.
6How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry while we are still helping you, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. If you do not go ahead, you are welcome to ask us to delete it and we will.
7Keeping it safe
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), so what you type in the form is protected on its way to us. Access to our phone and email is limited to the people who need it.
8Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete it. Just contact us and say what you would like — you do not need to give a reason. We will not charge you, and we will come back to you within a reasonable time.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
